US Work Permit: This is the new deadline you should know about

Some foreigners can work temporarily in the United States thanks to the Employment Authorization Document (EAD), issued by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).

This documentation only applies to those who entered the country under the asylum, refugee, or nonimmigrant status. Those in the process of applying for permanent residency or adjustment of status also need this document if they seek to work legally.

The EAD is processed through Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization, which must be submitted to USCIS. If approved by the government agency, the permit will be valid for one to two years, depending on the immigration category for which you qualify.
