Turn on WhatsApp security notifications

One of the most important features WhatsApp offers to protect your account is security notifications. This feature alerts you whenever a change in end-to-end encryption occurs, which can occur when a contact installs WhatsApp on a new device or when they reinstall the app. To activate security notifications, follow these steps:
Go to ‘Settings’ in the WhatsApp app.
Go to ‘Account’ and then select ‘Security’.
Activate the ‘Show security notifications’ option.
Once activated, any changes to the encryption codes will be notified, allowing you to quickly detect any suspicious activity. Activating this option is essential, as it allows you to detect potential security breaches the moment a hacker attempts to access or manipulate your account.
Enable two-step verification
One of the most effective security measures to prevent hacking is two-step verification. This feature requires the user to enter a six-digit PIN, in addition to the verification code sent via SMS, to access the account. This means that even if an attacker gains access to the phone number, they will still need the additional PIN to hack the account.
Go to ‘Settings’ in the WhatsApp app.
Select ‘Account’ and then click ‘Two-Step Verification’.
Toggle the option on and enter a six-digit PIN.
You will also be asked to add a backup email address, which will be useful if you forget your PIN. This additional PIN makes it much more difficult for an attacker to access the account, even if they have the victim’s phone number.
