Tesla is struggling: the poor condition of a Model 3 car after six years of use outrages experts.

A six-year-old Tesla Model 3 has sparked concern among industry experts after being disassembled and analyzed by the Norwegian Automobile Association. The reason: an abnormal level of corrosion on numerous key components, which calls into question the durability of the brand’s electric vehicles in extreme climates like those of Northern Europe.

The vehicle, used under normal conditions and without exceptional exposure, showed significant deterioration in sensitive areas. Among the most affected parts, technicians identified rust on the battery bolts, corrosion on the door sill trim, and worrying damage to the car’s brake lines and ground points. “I’m surprised it’s in such bad shape after only six years,” said Matti Funderud, founder of Funderud Antirust, a company specializing in corrosion protection.
