Wall Street’s blackout due to Trump’s tariffs: GAP, Nike, and tech companies lose up to 20%.

Wall Street closed Thursday with sharp losses ranging between 4 and 6% across its key indicators, shaken by the tariffs announced yesterday by Donald Trump, which are compromising the transactions of many companies and increasing the risk of a recession.

According to preliminary data at the close of trading, the Nasdaq fell 5.97%, the S&P 500 lost 4.84%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 3.98%, with the largest losses in energy, technology, industrial, and financial companies.

The hardest hit among the Big Tech stocks was Apple (-9.3%), which suffered its worst day in five years due to its dependence on Asian imports, followed by Amazon (-9%), Meta (-9%), Nvidia (-7.8%), Tesla (-5.47%), Alphabet (-4%), and Microsoft (-2.3%).
