Firefly’s Blue Ghost lunar lander completes a historic mission and meets 100% of its objectives.

Firefly Aerospace, the Texas-based company that performed a flawless lunar landing with its Blue Ghost spacecraft earlier this month, declared the historic mission complete after achieving 100% of its objectives. This feat marks the first completely successful commercial operation on the Moon, the company reported Monday.
Blue Ghost, a four-legged robotic lander roughly the size of a small rover, spent two weeks operating on the near side of the Moon. The landing site was near an ancient volcanic formation called Mons Latreille, just north of the equator.
Blue Ghost enjoyed sunlight for most of the mission until lunar dusk brought darkness to the landing site on Sunday. However, the vehicle managed to accomplish a key mission objective and continued operating for about five hours after nightfall, thanks to power supplied by batteries.
